Occur Mississippi through the sixties, Skeeter (Stone) can be a southern society girl who returns from college going to become author, but turns her friends' lives -- together with a Mississippi town -- upside lower when she decides to interview the black girls that have spent their lives fostering of prominent southern families. Aibileen (Davis), Skeeter's best friend's housekeeper, is the first ones to open -- for the dismay of her pals inside the tight-knit black community. Despite Skeeter's existence-extended associations hanging inside the balance, she and Aibileen continue their collaboration and very soon more women come toward tell their tales -- to ensure that because it calculates, there's a great deal to express. In route, unlikely associations are forged together with a brand new sisterhood emerges, while not before everyone around includes a couple of items to go to town after they become unconsciously -- and unwillingly -- taken up inside the changing occasions.
